Critically acclaimed, Bay Area indie theatre company, Alma Theatre Co.(in conjunction with the 72nd Street Gang Writer’s Collective of NYC) presents the 4th installment of its Fresh Raw and Wild, Equity Staged Reading Series. At Phoenix Theatre II, in the heart of the theatre zone of SF, (Union Square,) they bring you Pulitzer Prize nominee, Jon Maran’s new play: home sick – an American Haunting directed by Cristina Anselmo. After the death of their parents, two sisters – one a journalist, the other a politician — return to the house they grew up in which is now considered “stigmatized property”. Each hope to figure out what really happened in this house. Their memories are tested as to what is true and what is false — ultimately exploring if the truth really matters anyway. With Amy Prosser, Kelli Kerslake Colaco, Tim Fullerton, Josiah Polhemus. What makes Alma Co.’s Fresh Raw and Wild Series truly exciting is that these great new plays, by talented, award-winning writers are on the precipice of completion. The response from our audiences and impressions from the staged reading directly effect the final draft of what may possibly be the next big play on the best stages in the world. Coffee, wine and fresh baked goods will be on offer. Donations welcome.
