Famed literary figure C.S. Lewis was nothing if not an entertaining storyteller -- the lasting impact of his novels The Narnia Chronicles and The Screwtape Letters are proof of that. Now, London-born actor/playwright David Payne brings the witty and engaging author back to life in this one-man show at Portland's Winningstad Theatre. In this intimate setting, Payne as Lewis recalls the people and events that inspired his thought and shaped his life, including his friendship with J.R.R. Tolkien, why he nearly abandoned the Narnia Chronicles, how he came to embrace Christianity and his memories of the American woman who turned his life upside down.
