The roots of the Chicago Flower and Garden Show date back to 1847 with experiential garden displays as well as DIY solutions to inspire, educate and motivate the next generation of gardeners. In the sequel to last year’s FLOWERTALES: Every Garden Has a Story to Tell, the Chicago Flower & Garden Show returns in 2019 with FLOWERTALES: The Story Grows On! This year brings an expanded show featuring more than 700 plant varieties including roses, hydrangea, tulips, hyacinth, azaleas, veggies and more, a new plant variety display and special programming showcasing houseplants — plus an all-new floorplan designed by the Illinois Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects. Local landscape designers, builders and suppliers will create realistic solutions within feature landscapes and garden vignette displays that inspire and demonstrate to attendees the possibilities for their own gardens, whether that garden us in a large yard or on a small balcony. Creators will interpret the unique role flowers, plants and gardens play in the stories of our lives and literature. Don’t miss this lush event at Chicago’s Navy Pier.
